Lola Rocknrolla is an award-winning Writer and director called “New York’s answer to John Waters”
Lola Rocknrolla got her moniker by playing tenor sax and screaming into a microphone for various rock bands across the U.S. She started directing videos for those broke ass bands which led to her making her first short film; "Dragzilla". Since then she has made many films in her “Gaysploitation” genre including “Night of the Living Gay”, “Nefertitty”, “Nefertitty in Space”, “Attack of the Yoga Zombies” and more. Her films have played festivals worldwide and she won Best Film at John Waters’ camp in 2023. Lola is premiering “The Big Johnson”, her first documentary feature at Slamdance 2025. Her original musical “Homo the Musical” had three successful theater runs, including off-Broadway. In addition to her own work she has directed the Emmy award winning children's series "Biz Kids" for PBS, written for the Cooking Channel, worked various jobs for Viacom, LOGO, MTV, VH1, AMC, TV Land and directed multiple music videos.
